The vibrations caused from repeated pounding on the top crossbar will cause the crossbar bolts to loosen, strip, and fail.
1. Check / tighten the bolts
(every 2-3 months)
2. Replace the bolts once the threads strip
(varies depending on usage)
3. Use Loctite
Repair
The crossbar threads occasionally need repair. It takes less than 5 minutes to repair your crossbars using these 2 tools:
1. M10x1.5 Metric Thread Tap ($10.00)
2. M3-M12 Adjustable Tap Wrench Handle ($7.00)
